excited yet? I am. even Tesco is getting excited...
24 Dec 2007 - 22.20

Wherever you live, right across the globe. I hope you are well, and if not, I hope your heart has the love to cope.
Things are tough at this time for many. And for trillions of reasons. People are dying, starving, losing their loved ones, dealing with life alone. Give them your thoughts this Christmas time. Give a little of your joy towards thinking about those less fortunate than yourself. There are some on this amazing planet that won't get anything, there will be some that get a little, there will be some that get more than enough and be grateful and some who grt more than enough and are ungrateful. Then of course, there will be some that get too much and never spare a thought for the afore mentioned. That's life.
But, for those of you that get more excited creating, buying or giving a present that will make the people you love glow, or those of you that made serious effort towards charities throughout the year, or made extra effort to change others lives. Those of you that have given a small portion of your lives to make a difference to others deserve the same respect that we give Santa Claus. Giving will always prevail over receiving because the thought behind what a present means to someone, whether that present fits a personality, or a fad, or a love for something, you just know that gift is going to make a difference to who opens it. Rather than your own joy that you feel, when you open a present.
Thanks to everyone across the world that have visited deanperry.co.uk. those who have emailed, those who have linked to and from, I'm genuinely amazed, from as far west as Mountain View, (USA) to as far west as Moscow (Russia) and everywhere else I haven't mentioned. A big south english thank you.
And.. In other news.. KEEP AN EYE OUT! as from boxing day, EVERY DAY for 12 days, on this page, there will be a pic every day, from the first day of christmas (boxing day) for 12 DAYS!
Seriously, I'm putting some serious effort into 12 pics, from a singular partridge to twelve drummers a-drumming! So please pop back between those dates :) starting Boxing Day (December 26th).
Anyhow, it's been a completely mad day, and madder evening, a completely crazy night, and will be a psychotic dawn. So I must off and leave.
Happy Christmas to all. And to ALL a goodnight.
Happy Christmas everyone x x x

The Internet is bonkers. It's official.
A bit like buses really, nothing happens about a lot, then - all of a sudden - the opposite occurs, and a lot happens about something small. It started with a little spoofery from myself, re-typing a page from Facebook, to make a satirical jibe towards the more useless applications, which unlike some applications, which are entertaining or useful tend to overfill a user's page.Sorry for those of you who don't use Facebook or other anti-social networking sites. But if you do use them, you'll know what I mean. Anyway, I made the pic, posted it, quite a while ago on Tattyworld and B3ta.com and thought nothing of it. Turns out, the little blighter worked it's way around a bit across the internet. So big thanks for anyone who forwarded, emailed it or posted it on Forums etc. Thank you :)

Well hello to YOU! Tooth, or lack of - is healing nicely. So been busy. Lampard (the alsation portrait I've been working on) is complete, and once it is scanned, I'll be adding a page to the gallery, showing the pic, from original photograph, through stages, to the finished piece, please email me if you'd like a signed print, a must-have for any dog lover or vet ;)
also, I'm working on a 'twelve days of christmas' series of pictures, which will feature on this page, every day, for TWELVE DAYS! Starting on the first day of christmas, which is Boxing Day, or December the 26th, then every day for twelve days thereafter!
So, when you've run out of presents to open, and you've got repetitive strain injury from pulling crackers, log onto the good old interweb, pour yourself a drink, and pop back here to see each picture unfold every day! Also, there will be a little history behind each picture which will make for some interesting reading!
And, been thrashing out doodles of character designs for a future project, with Koit- cute, but with the right amount of cartoon violence. Huzzah!
I hope everyone's festive (if you celebrate) plans are er.. going to plan and if things get you down, or you feel a little blue, try to remember the gift of good, the gift of birth, the gift of giving, even if the giving is just the giving of a smile to another, as they pass by you, or the joy you feel inside when you finally find a perfect gift for a special someone, and you can instantly and intuitively know that gift will make that special person light up with joy. Try to remember the joy of life, and how by being good and thoughtful to others, can give the gift of happiness to so many people.
once again, thanks to everyone (across the world! woohoo!) that's popped by this blossoming wonderment, or browsed the gallery, or contacted me. THANKS!

I've never known my life to be as hectic as it is currently. It's been mad, and the last thing I could do with is a brutal tooth extraction this morning. It was agonizing, and over the last 7 years, I've developed a fear of Dentists, after an extraction turned into such massive swelling, I couldn't eat or barely drink for a week. And for that extraction I had to have seven injections of anaesthetic to numb my mouth! And seven years down the line, here I am again, enduring what seems to be an eternity of numbness whilst I wait for the anaesthetic to wear off, and (in no way eagerly) anticipate what I'm due to endure when it does wear off. Will it hurt like a B****rd? Will the slight swelling I have now start engulfing the room as my head swells up? Will this numbness ever go away? Maaarrgghh!! Never mind. worse things happen at sea, I'm told
On a slightly more lighter note, I've altered the thumbnails, so they load up much, much faster, and there are now pics in EVERY gallery section. Thanks to those of you that have e-mailed, (especially those asking for commissions! ;) ) and also great to know I've had quite a few non-U.K. visitors - Thank you!
and..... I'm grateful for anyone that's spread the word about deanperry.co.uk .. keep telling people!
(but I'm not so grateful to Google.)

Thanks to Martin (aka HumanDescent) for the linkback from his wonderous animangling morphing website Humandescent.com, and he's also partially responsible for Tattyworld, you can also find links to these sites and more in the Links page!
Tons of stuff in the pipeline, I have a feeling December could be an intense one, but not just for the usual xmas panic either! This is a good thing, as the more work I'm producing, the more work is out there in the wide world, and that makes me happy, and as for the collaborations I'll be working on, it's good to be working with people I don't just get on with famously, but also admire their work and philosophies. You know who you are ;)
I'll add some of the preliminary ideas, if I am permitted, to their own gallery space once work commences, hope that's stirred up some eager anticipation in you!
Happy Tuesday everyone!

Subtle Penguin...

Well, it's December, and across the world, people are decking their halls, fattening their Turkey (and frantically checking for bird flu on a daily basis), enduring Noddy Holder on repeat as they shop for gifts for people they've not seen all year. Families rowing over fused entangled lights that worked fine last year but now don't. Kids scoffing their advent calendar and scrawling an over-extensive christmas list to Santa, asking for the impossible. Parents running from shop to shop desperately trying to find the last available Nintendo Wii or DS Lite or High School Musical etc.
Still, despite the stresses and strains, there is still a hint of magic in the air, a sense of excitement lingering in the crisp winter breeze. Decorations are being strewn around Pickle Mansions at this very minute, which is early for us, but it's added to our anticipation and excitement about the festive season.
So get some chipmunks roasting on your open fire, and spare a thought for those poor helpless Turkeys.
Although I'll probably be scoffing at least one of the little blighters in a couple of weeks!

Well, things are progressing, albeit a bit hectic and mad, cheers for those who have popped by, in these early days, and especially those who have clicked on those all important google ads (at the top of the pages!)
It's been a totally mad week. Good mad, not bad mad, but enough to expand the grey matter to explosion. Things are a-changing, but hopefully, in a good way!
To those watching intensely. (hahahaha) ... You may have noticed changes in the Gallery, much 'high class' artwork has been added, along with some run-o-the-mill shite.

Well! Pickles been busy, super busy! What with adding fancy parts to the website, and fiddling with stuff to make things run proper. In fact most of today has been consumed with excitement, ideas, and lovely looking new links.
If you're visiting this laaarvelly site, e-mail me from the contact link at the top, give me some of your lovely opinions! I'm taking baby steps, and any support is welcome!
In other news, Shaun Williamson, aka Barry from eastenders, was in Ramsgate earlier tonight, to switch on the Christmas lights. KMFM (kent messenger F.M) did their best, top xmas tunes and a great female singer, but alas, I missed her name. Still, fake snow, innuendos and a lot of fun for a wednesday afternoon, makes a nice change! And best quote from the night - "I see the Balloon man is busy, what's he making?" - "Oh, he's busy doing a dog" - class.
Here's the fella in action....

(oh, and the right hand is the Vixta's, desperate for an Autographed Panto pic!

Well, as some may already know, I've had several problems of late, so things have been a tad delayed, but at last the site is fully functional and although a tad skeletal, will start to blossom into what was meant to be!
A MASSIVE MASSIVE thanks to Kev for his help, without which I probably would have been banging my head against a wall for eternity!
and also thanks to Koit, and Roy n Carol, for some positive input into getting the show on the road.
Cheers guys

This is how happy I am!
Oh, and no problems in Firefox anymore!

Latest news is that at last, this wonderous site is finally online. Okay, it's got a few glitches, like the CSS won't work in Firefox, but this and other gremlins will be sorted out very soon indeed. Any CSS wizards that have any suggestions? E-mail me please, I'm a bit vague when it comes to intense programming!
The gallery section is obviously my baby, and will take a little more time to get perfect, and the links section will fill up rapidly, but I'm more than excited about having a proper website again.
Baby-steps, but soon I'll be sprinting. Cheers for stopping by. >.o
